Difference Between Thermocouple and RTD Wire

Thermocouple extension wire types such as JX, KX, EX and TX are used to connect the measuring junction to record the temperature or process control instrumentation while RTDs are connected to record the temperature recording using ordinary copper instrumentation cable. Thermocouple wire have a better response time while RTDs are special resistors whose resistance value changes with temperature in a known way.
